Camp New Fork

Our scout troop went to Camp New Fork for our scout camp this year. On the first day we all met at the church at 5:00 in the morning. We had opening prayer then split the scouts up into two trucks. Stockton, Ben, and Jake rode with Brigham's grandpa (Evan Campbell), and Hunter, Brigham, and I rode with my dad, the scout master.  Brigham and I brought furry blankets, and we slept most the way there.  We made one stop on the way to get gas.  At the stop some of the other scouts got some candy.  Stockton got a breakfast burrito. After we left we noticed that the other truck was really far back.  When we got to the parking lot Mr. Campbell told us Stockton had thrown up.  After we had all stepped out of the trucks, we headed over to some tables where we got buddy tags.  (Buddy tags are tags with a your name on them. Above and below your name there  could be a red and/or blue line). They mark how good of a swimmer you are.  Mine had both red and blue lines.  That is the highest you can get.  It means  you are an advanced swimmer and you can swim in the deep part of the pool.

After that we went up to our campsite and set up our tents and our sleeping  bags.  After we were finished, we went down and got commissary.  Commissary is when you go down to the kitchen and you get a milk crate of food to prepare.  After we ate lunch, we went to our first three classes.  I took Emergency Preparedness, Wilderness Survival, and Pioneering.  I liked Wilderness Survival the best.  Brigham and I were the only ones that showed  up for the class.  We laughed almost the whole time because we kept telling each other jokes, and the instructor kept saying things that reminded us of movies, and we kept bringing up movie quotes and then we'd laugh.

At the end of the day, we had dinner in the dining hall, and then we went to the campfire program.

The video shows Stockton and two other scouts doing as one of the instructors told them to do not knowing the milk crate was supposed to be a high tech. toilet.
